Article 1
Name: The name of the organization
shall be Neurosonology Research Group
Article 2
Affiliation: The Neurosonology
Research Group is affiliated to the Research Committee of the World Federation
of Neurology.
Article 3
Purpose: The sole and direct
purpose of the Neurosonology Research Group shall be to serve the public interest;
namely, the promotion of science and research as well of education and training
in the field of ultrasonic techniques. International cooperation and the dissemination
of scientific information within the field of Neurosciences shall be encouraged.
Article 4
Address: The headquarters
of the Neurosonology Research Group shall be located at the site of the acting
Secretary.
Article 5
Membership:
5.1: Membership of the Group may be held by clinicians and
scientists who are actively promoting the application of ultrasound in neurosciences.
5.2: Application for membership must be submitted in writing to the Secretary
and must be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and a list of publications.
The Executive Committee will decide on the admission of a member.
5.3: Voting rights: Only confirmed members shall have voting rights.
5.4: Termination of membership: Membership may be terminated by written notification
to be submitted to the Secretary at the end of the calendar year. Any member
being in arrears of two annual contributions by the end of June will be excluded.
5.5 Honorary members can be named by the Executive Committee.
Article 6
Government: The chief legislative
power of the Research Group shall rest in the General Meeting of its members.
This meeting shall elect the Executive Committee by proposal of the Nominating
Committee. The chairman and the members of the Nominating Committee are elected
by the Executive Committee.
Article 7
Executive Committee: The
Committee shall be composed of a Chairman and a Secretary/Treasurer and such
a number of ordinary members as shall from time to time be determined by the
General Meeting. The Committee shall be elected by the members present at
the General Meeting held in conjunction with each World Congress of Neurology.
The maximum duration of office for any position shall be two periods of four
years each.
Article 8
Finances: The activities
of the Neurosonology Research Group shall be first and foremost to serve the
public interest and not its own economic interests. Funds may only be used
for purposes in accordance with the statutes. Members shall receive no financial
contributions from funds of the NSRG. No person shall draw financial privileges
from expenditures alien to the purpose of the NSRG or from reimbursement.
Membership fees, as determined by the General Meeting, shall be paid to the
Treasurer. Finances shall be administered by the Executive Committee in accordance
with the statutes of the Research Committee of the World Federation of Neurology.
Article 9
Business affairs:
9.1: Business affairs with the Research Committee of the
World Federation of Neurology shall be carried out by the Executive Committee
of the Group.
9.2: Delegates: The Executive Committee shall elect a delegate or delegates
to the meetings of the Steering and Research Committees of the World Federation
of Neurology.
Article 10
Amendments: Amendments to
the constitution may be submitted at the proposal of the Executive Committee
or as proposed by five members. An amendment may be adopted only on a two-thirds
vote by the members in attendance at the General Meeting.
Article 11
Dissolution: A decision to
dissolve the Group may only be taken at the General Meeting and shall require
a two-thirds majority.
Article 12
At any General meeting a quorum shall consist of twelve or
more members.
Amendment 1
In countries with ten or more members a National
Chapter may be formed after approval by the Executive
Committee.

Article 1
Meetinqs: Regular meetings
of the Group shall be held at least in conjunction with each World Congress
of Neurology. Time and place of the General Meetings shall be communicated
to the members at least two months in advance, the letter of invitation containing
the complete agenda.
Article 2
Finances: The treasury shall
receive the regular annual contributions of the members, gifts of organizations
and individuals and any fraction of surplus of meetings patronized by the
Group deemed appropriate by the organizers. Billing for membership fees is
carried out by the Treasurer in January of each calendar year- The membership
fees are due by the end of June. The use of membership fees and any other
financial contribution to the treasury, unless otherwise destined by the donor(s),
normally shall be confined to the following purposes: 1. Payment of administrative
costs excluding traveling expenses 2.Contributions to the organizational costs
of meetings patronized by the Group according to the state of the treasury.
However, the Group shall not take financial responsibilities for any of these
meetings.
Article 3
Committees: The Executive
Committee may appoint sub-committees from its membership as deemed necessary
(e.g. credential committee, local liaison committees etc.).
